Welcome

Welcome,
and thanks for tuning in to Wasabi on the go. This first post is about our plans for the upcoming year.

Agta Hunter, 2011,  Jacob Maentz
2014 is a special year for us. We are in for a big trip stretching from February till the 10th of December. We will be back just in time for the Christmas. The first aim is to conduct an anthropological fieldtrip as part of the Hunter-Gatherer Resilience Project @ UCL in London. More about this in the next post, for now let's focus on the big picture.

As I first looked at the trip on Google Maps I couldn't help but wonder why, if I was to do half the trip around the globe, I would not do the other half too. This is a somewhat childish idea that I have in mind, how fun is the idea of walking always in the same direction and ending up at the starting point. So, we are taking a few weeks off after the Philippines for this.

Let's have a look at the big picture, we are flying:

- On the 15th of February: London --> Manila
- 21th of October: Manila --> Tokyo
- 8th of November: Tokyo --> Los Angeles
- 18th of November: San Francisco --> Washington DC
- 1st of December: Washington DC --> Reykjavik
- 8th of December: Reyjakvick --> London.

We have the flights but not much more at the moment. So lots of planning ahead, do not hesitate if you have been to some of those places to fill us with ideas and info. You may also have observed the discrepancy between LA and SF; this is to give us a good opportunity for a nice road trip across California.

Oh, and this is how it look on a map:

This is it for this week, stay tuned for next episode on the 10th of February.

Love,
Wasabi.
